Hello everyone!
Thank you for signing on. My name is Katherine Lane.
A little bit about me! I discovered the world of fashion when I was about 12 or 13. I watched a Dior fashion show, and I was hooked. There was no more idea of potential paths, in the back of my mind, always, I knew that was my direction, my goal, my dream.
I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for college to study Fashion Design at Drexel University. After 1 semester, I decided to transfer to the University of Missouri, where I am now studying Economics with a minor in Law, Business, and Textile and Apparel management. I will graduate next year.
As I am figuring out my voice and what my contribution could amount to one day in the industry, I feel so distant from the fashion world. I feel such a strong conflict between knowing this is where I am meant to be right now, but feeling so far from opportunity and a place to develop ideas and a voice in design.
My intent with this blog is to write about new topics and opinions on fashion media in hopes of developing a clearer understanding, voice, and opinion on the things I am passionate about. Also, getting back into research and discovering new mediums of work is a fun plus! Everything on here is simply an opinion or a thought. I am excited to begin this new passion project.
